Uses
AM 90 Pt / 10 Ir is a commonly used alloy in the medical field. Often used in medically implanted devices, AM 90 Pt / 10 Ir features excellent bio-compatible properties, such as radiopacity, moderate strength, and good formability, and is approved for internal use by the FDA.
Brazing Characteristics
AM 90 Pt / 10 Ir is a medical grade precious metal alloy that can be supplied in an annealed, stress relieved, or cold worked condition. Available in wire, strip, tubing, marker bands.

Produced in accordance to ASTM B684 Specifications.
Forms Available
Wire, Ultra-Fine Wire (under .005: Diameter), marker bands, strip, tubing, Foil, Sheet, and Preformed shapes; rings, washers, discs, shims, specialty shapes. Two dimensional shapes can be Laser-cut and/or machined with EDM though parts must be cleaned prior to brazing.
