Uses
AM Ag-22 is a silver brazing alloy primarily used for tungsten carbide. AM Ag-22 is excellent for joining carbide to steel with good ductility, diffusion, and capillary flow. AM Ag-22 creates an excellent hermetically sealed braze joint with high stress and fracture resistance.
Brazing Characteristics
AM Ag-22 is a low melting braze filler metal for carbides and steels. AM Ag-22 contains manganese which can cause issues with wetting onto braze surfaces. AM Ag-22 will require a high temperature brazing Flux in almost all applications.
Specifications
AM Ag-22 conforms to American Welding Society (AWS) A5.8/A5.8M 2019: BAg-22
Forms Available
Wire, Foil (Trimetal), Atomized powder, Paste, Sheet, and Preformed shapes; rings, washers, discs, shims, specialty shapes. Two dimensional shapes can be Laser-cut and/or machined with EDM. Preforms must be cleaned prior to brazing.
