Uses
AM Ag-5 is a general purpose and effective silver brazing alloy for most applications. AM Ag-5 is excellent for joining copper and brass with good ductility and capillary flow. AM Ag-5 is a common alloy assigned by the federal government for brazing on ships. AM Ag-5 exhibits high corrosion resistance for braze joints exposed to salt-water.
Brazing Characteristics
AM Ag-5 has silver/yellow braze fillet which is desired for color match on copper and brass. AM Ag-5 will require a low temperature brazing Flux in almost all applications.
Specifications
AM Ag-5 conforms to American Welding Society (AWS) A5.8/A5.8M 2019: BAg-5
Forms Available
Wire, Foil, Atomized powder, Paste, Sheet, and Preformed shapes; rings, washers, discs, shims, specialty shapes. Two dimensional shapes can be Laser-cut and/or machined with EDM. Preforms must be cleaned prior to brazing.
