Uses
AM Cu-Ge Brazing Alloy is used primarily as an economic braze filler metal for brazing. AM Cu-Ge brazes to most ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces. AM Cu-Ge produces hermetically sealed assemblies.
Brazing Characteristics
AM Cu-Ge Brazing Alloy can be successfully brazed onto surfaces such as Kovar, Nickel, Carbon Steel, Copper, and Tool Steel. A minimum brazing temperature of 1825° F (995°C) is recommend for furnace and vacuum applications.
Specifications
AM Cu-Ge is produced in accordance to American Welding Society (AWS) A5.8 Specifications.
Forms Available Wire, Foil, Atomized powder, Paste, Sheet, and Preformed shapes; rings, washers, discs, shims, specialty shapes. Two dimensional shapes can be Laser-cut and/or machined with EDM. Preform surface must be cleaned prior to brazing.
